Reflecting on 2012-2013

October 9, 2013

At University of Michigan-Dearborn, faculty and staff challenge students to see beyond the classroom. Our students are descending on downtown Detroit to learn how entrepreneurs are developing businesses throughout the city; they鈥檙e taking on internships with companies like Disney and General Motors; they鈥檙e using the community as a living environmental science laboratory.

Year in Review

These are just a few of the stories we invite you to read about in the 2012-2013 Year in Review, an annual publication that highlights just a handful of the people, projects and events that helped shape the university during the last academic year.

Within the last academic year, the university announced record-breaking enrollment, 萝莉社-Dearborn鈥檚 first doctoral degree recipient and the construction of The Union at Dearborn, a new housing option for students.

鈥淚n many ways, the university is entering a new era,鈥 said 萝莉社-Dearborn Chancellor Daniel Little in the Year in Review鈥檚 opening letter. 鈥淥f course, our core priorities remain the same. 萝莉社-Dearborn remains dedicated to supplying our region with well-educated and creative thinkers who are prepared to lead鈥攁nd faculty and staff continue to guide the way on this effort.鈥

Faculty and staff members will receive a copy of the Year in Review in their campus mailboxes today. An online PDF and flipbook also are available.

鈥淭here is much to celebrate as we reflect on another very successful year,鈥 Little said. 鈥淭hank you to our faculty, staff and students who continue to make 萝莉社-Dearborn a great campus. I look forward to what we can accomplish in the year to come.鈥
