You're Invited!
Come celebrate Robin’s official launch party on April 14 from 3–4 PM here at the EIC!

Robin is an AI-powered mobile app developed by senior Computer Science students Jana Amin, Meriam Harissa, Jodi Joven, and Leah Mirch at the University of Michigan–Dearborn. The app was created in collaboration with the EIC and faculty mentors Dr. Zheng Song and Dr. Jacob Napieralski.

Robin bridges the gap between nature, education, and technology. It has been field tested in K–12 classrooms and with visually impaired users, demonstrating how technology can enhance environmental learning and accessibility. More than just an app, Robin is a step toward inclusive environmental education.

Join us for an impactful day of service and learning! Everyone will start by volunteering at the Dearborn Support Food Pantry, helping organize the incoming pantry order to prepare for the weeks ahead. This is a great opportunity to give back to our own community and directly contribute to supporting students in need.

After your volunteer shift, grab a bite to eat and join us for a Lunch & Learn discussion about Sustainability and Food Waste Reduction. We’ll dive into the importance of minimizing food waste, sustainable food practices, and how food pantries can reduce their environmental impact. It’s a casual yet meaningful conversation to reflect on how we can all do our part to create a more sustainable future, including the work we just completed earlier!

If you're not up for the discussion, feel free to hang out in RUC Kochoff C and check out the Sustainability Fest happening at the same time. It’s a chance to explore different sustainability efforts on campus and get inspired!

Location: Start at the Dearborn Support Food Pantry, then join us for lunch and the discussion. Sustainability Fest will be in RUC Kochoff C from 1- 3:30PM.

All volunteers will receive lunch, and no experience is required to help at the pantry. Come serve, learn, and make a difference!

We'll provide all the food, fun, and supplies you need, so just bring your enthusiasm!

No experience or supplies necessary – everyone is welcome!

Panelists will share their personal organizing experiences, inform the audience about prominent environmental health and justice issues we must grapple with, and share upcoming opportunities for involvement.

Celebrate Earth Month at the Sustainability Fest! This year, we have a whole bunch of different activities and perks to offer attendees who join us, including a mending station run by Detroit Repair Cafe, a bookswap hosted by the Student Sustainability Coalition, a panel on environmental health and community centered advocacy (2-2:45 in room 1227 across the hall), and of course, the opportunity to connect with many different sustainability-focused orgs who will be tabling! Our last Nature Walk for Mental Health of the Winter 2025 semester is a cause for celebration! Join us at this special Nature Walk event from 2-3PM on April 9th for pizza, refreshments, and 2 raffle drawings to give away prize bags to attendees (one for the whole semester and one for just the final walk). Afterwards, we'll enjoy our usual naturalist-led walk through the EIC trails that are just starting to bloom back to life.

Interested in learning more about the unique habitats that surround us? Consider enrolling in the Michigan Naturalist program, offered in partnership by the University of Michigan- Dearborn, with Michigan State University!
