Funding Priorities
CEHHS students demonstrate exceptional purpose, passion and persistence. Whether they are full-time students embarking on a new career or working adults looking to advance in their fields, every student’s journey is worthy of investment.
Financial aid remains a significant barrier to our students, and CEHHS is committed to finding ways to remove such barriers. In fact, as one of our top priorities, the college seeks to create student support funds that meet the diverse and evolving needs of our students and programs. We recognize that students today face challenges beyond tuition, such as transportation, childcare and other needs related to internships, student teaching, clinical placements and prerequisite courses. Your generosity can help remove these barriers, making education more accessible.
CEHHS Student Support Funds:
- CEHHS Scholarships
- Study abroad, internship and clinical stipends
- Get to Graduation Fund
- Strategic Initiatives Fund
While scholarships help to ease the burden of tuition, study abroad and internship stipends help ensure all students have access to paid experiential learning opportunities regardless of their financial circumstances. This is incredibly impactful for aspiring teachers as a stipend can cover the costs of pre-student teaching internship requirements and ensure our students are fully prepared for their future classrooms.
Additionally, the Get To Graduation Fund supports students in their final year, aiding them in completing their degrees. This fund directly enhances student success, retention and timely graduation — a key strategic objective for CEHHS.
Likewise, the Strategic Initiatives Fund supports innovative pilot programs, provides resources for scholars and guest speakers and offers matching funds for groundbreaking research and faculty support.
"This scholarship has made it possible for me to work part-time this semester instead of full-time all last year. I have been able to dedicate much more time to my classes and feel as though the stress has been cut in half. I am very thankful to have received this scholarship and hope it can help even more students in similar situations! Thank you very much.

CEHHS students are the future practitioners who will serve our communities. That’s why the college emphasizes hands-on learning. In nearly every program, students must participate in experiential learning opportunities that are important for their professional development.
However, many students face financial barriers in meeting these requirements. By supporting funds that offer paid experiences, such as internships and apprenticeships, you ensure that all students gain the hands-on experience they need to succeed, regardless of their financial situation.
Mentorship programs, lectures and guest speaker events enrich the educational experience, providing students with valuable insights and connections that shape their futures. Stipends for student research experiences also allow students to engage in projects that deepen their understanding and prepare them for advanced study or professional work.
"The scholarship award has had a significant impact in motivating me to complete my dissertation requirements, especially since I was recently unable to work due to an accident. These expenses included books, educational materials, supplies and tuition. Thank you for your continued dedication to my quest to finish this final assignment, the dissertation."

The Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) is a hallmark of CEHHS. It delivers a high-quality early childhood curriculum that nurtures critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
As we grow and improve our facilities, we are dedicated to extending access to more families, enhancing both the physical space and programmatic offerings, thereby broadening our reach and enriching the community.
To do this, the ECEC is prioritizing scholarship funds to support the children of ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn students who attend the ECEC and stipends to support ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn students who are completing their practicum experiences.
Enhancing the physical space of the ECEC will allow us to serve the many children currently on our waiting list. Currently, we have the capacity for nine classrooms and around 140 children. Additional classrooms would allow us to serve up to 40 more children per year, host more ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn practicum students and employ more student staff part-time.
"The ECEC offers practice-based and in-classroom learning experiences for CEHHS students aspiring to careers in early childhood education. By working closely with children, families and communities, students get to apply their academic preparation in real-world settings. This hands-on approach prepares our students with the necessary skills and confidence to succeed as educators while also positively impacting ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn’s youngest learners. Students can fine-tune their skills in an environment rich with mentors who regularly model best practices in early childhood education."

Expanding Programs to Meet Future Demands
CEHHS continually evolves and develops programs that open doors and prepare students for career opportunities. One example is our new BA in Sports Management. This future-forward program will help prepare students to fill critical staffing needs in emerging amateur sports leagues and help fill increasing roles in pro and semi-pro sports. The program also focuses on the leadership of women and people of color in the ever-evolving world of sports and emphasizes athlete well-being and mental health.
This program offers a rigorous practice-based education focused on authentic leadership in sports management. Our unique approach combines theoretical foundations with real-world application, including internships and interdisciplinary collaboration with professionals, complemented by research opportunities guided by faculty.
CEHHS students exemplify purpose, passion, and persistence. From full-time students launching their careers to working adults broadening their professional scope, all CEHHS students are unique. Together, they represent the tapestry of our region, deserving of the opportunity to pursue and achieve success.
