Flowers for Syria
Join us to write notes of optimism and attach flowers to water bottles in memory of Syrian revolutionary Ghiath Matar. Ghiath would distribute water bottles with flowers to members of the Syrian army as a from of peaceful protest during the early days of the revolution. We will distribute these water bottles at our annual Iftar this year and all of those who participate will reap the reward of helping a fasting person break their fast! The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever provides the food for a fasting person to break his fast with, then for him is the same reward as his (the fasting person's), without anything being diminished from the reward of the fasting person." This hadith is from Jami` at-Tirmidhi 807 and is graded as "Sahih" (authentic).
