The U-M Board of Regents approved on Sept. 15 a proposed budget and plan for renovations of the Science Building as well as common mechanical infrastructure of the Computer and Information Science Building. The Regents’ approval allows the project architect, SHW Group, to begin its design phase and develop a construction schedule for the project.
In December, the state legislature approved a bill that would fund $30 million of the $51 million project. ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn will borrow the remaining matching obligation for the capital outlay project. University administrators are working to ensure that this project continues to receive capital outlay support from the legislature and the governor.
