University of Michigan-Dearborn moved up one spot among public universities in the Midwest in U.S. News & World Reports annual guide to American colleges and universities. 蹤獲扦-Dearborn ranked fifth among regional public universities and remained at 38th among all regional universities in the Midwest. This marks the 16th consecutive year the university was rated as one of the regions best.
According to the magazine, overall rankings are based on data on up to 16 indicators of academic excellence, including first-year retention rate, graduation rate and strength of faculty.
In college-specific listings, U.S. News again recognized 蹤獲扦-Dearborns undergraduate business and engineering programs. The College of Business was ranked as the third best undergraduate business program in the state. This was the 10th consecutive year the program has appeared on the list. The College of Engineering and Computer Science was ranked among the best ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering programs for universities that offer doctoral degree programs. This is the third year CECS has been included in the doctoral program category. U.S. News previously ranked the program among the best offered at masters-level institutions for 18 consecutive years.
The complete 2018 rankings were released online this week and will appear in the magazines annual guidebook to Americas Best Colleges.
In rankings released earlier this summer, Washington Monthly named 蹤獲扦-Dearborn to its Best Bang for the Buck Midwest rankings, which recognized the university for offering marketable degrees at an affordable cost.
