In June 2023, ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn hosted a Discovery Sprint to explore the current state of student employment from student employee and student employee supervisor perspectives. Broadening our understanding of student employees' current ability to translate their skills and develop professionally, the Experience+ team was able to identify barriers to consider when redesigning the student employment experience. Following a workshop at Arizona State University in October 2023 the Student Employment Advisory Council (SEAC) at ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn was formed, with the goal of creating a pilot program to implement these changes.  From these efforts, Wolverines@Work (W@W) was born. 

W@W aims to address the top concerns identified throughout the Discovery Sprint and university partner discussions. Investigation on student employment revealed specific aspects that require focused attention, including creating a centralized student employee training, providing professional development workshops, and enhancing supervisor support.  In the Winter '24 semester W@W partnered with Student Affairs, to implement a pilot program including supervisor and student employee surveys, check-ins, professional development sessions, and the opportunity for students to share their stories through both photo journal projects and digital storytelling efforts over the course of the semester.
